NEW YORK, March 14. Iran and the United States made significant progress in the Geneva talks on February 26, and Tehran was prepared to make a major concession, but Washington likely misinterpreted the Islamic Republic's position, said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in an interview with MS Now.
"I never said that we would produce bombs. I said that we have 440 kilograms of 60% enriched material, and that was no secret. This is mentioned in the IAEA reports. So I said that it is mentioned in the report. If more were enriched, it could be enough for 10 bombs, as your own experts claim. So we are prepared to give them up, and we are prepared to dilute them, mix them to lower enrichment levels. And by that, I meant that the concession that we are making is really significant," Araghchi recalled. "But how did they interpret it? I don't know. Perhaps because of a lack of knowledge, perhaps because of an intention to justify, as I said, an act of aggression that cannot be justified," he emphasized.
